Briana's Journey of Courage and Hope

Briana
Briana
At just 11 years old, Briana has faced challenges that many adults would struggle to overcome.

Following her cancer diagnosis, Briana experienced the heartbreaking loss of her sight. Yet despite everything she has endured, she continues to inspire those around her with her strength, resilience and positive spirit.
When asked about her wishes, Briana's requests were beautifully simple. She wanted slime, audio CDs, a unicorn and the opportunity to learn how to swim. She also shared her love of making bead creations and expressed a desire to learn Braille so that she could continue learning and growing despite her blindness.

Thanks to the incredible kindness of our supporters and Facebook followers, many of those wishes became a reality. Donations of beads, audio CDs and a CD player were received, bringing joy and encouragement during a difficult season in her life.
One particularly special moment came when a visually impaired woman heard Briana's story and stepped forward to help her learn Braille. What began as a wish became an opportunity, proving that sometimes the right people enter our lives at exactly the right time.
Briana also loves being in the water. To support her ongoing journey, Colour My World South Africa has committed to funding swimming lessons when the swimming school reopens in Spring. We hope that swimming will bring not only enjoyment but also confidence, independence and a sense of freedom.

Briana's story reminds us that hope can be found in the smallest acts of kindness. It shows the power of community, compassion and people working together to help a child believe in possibilities.

To everyone who contributed, shared her story, donated items or offered support, thank you. Your kindness has helped brighten Briana's journey and shown her that she is surrounded by a community that cares.
