Celebrating special moments and creating memories
The aim is to spoil our 15 children a little and give them a happy and memorable end-of-year experience. Thank you again to Gail and the Cape Town Lions Club for assisting with the outing, and thank you to all our directors for your continued support of Colour My World South Africa. Everything we do continues to centre around our children, their families, inclusion and creating opportunities for them to enjoy experiences that every child should have. Warm regards, Nazleen Carelse Founder/Director Colour My World South Africa

We are so excited about the next phase of our journey. We would like to grow our sessions to include counselling through play, movement, yoga and developmentally appropriate activities alongside our existing Water Therapy programme. But we need YOUR help to build our therapy resource kit. We are looking for donations of new or good-quality preloved items: π§ 10 yoga/exercise balls in various sizes π§ 10 yoga mats π§Έ Sensory toys and sensory equipment 𧩠Developmental and educational toys π¨ Toys and resources suitable for therapeutic play πͺ Therapy/rehabilitation equipment, including ankle weights where professionally recommended π Large, soft bath towels π A large supportive waterproof or washable positioning cushion to assist with safe transfers and positioning around our pool sessions π² Games and play equipment suitable for children with different physical, developmental, communication and sensory needs If you have something sitting at home that is no longer being used, it could become a valuable resource in one of our sessions. As CMWSA grows, we want to look beyond a child's diagnosis and ask: What does THIS child need? What does THIS parent need? And how can we support them? We cannot do it alone. Please help us build the resources our volunteers and professionals need to support our children and families. Help us, help them. π Colour My World South Africa βNo child should ever be excluded because of their impairments.β Please share this post β somebody in your community may have exactly what we need.

View GalleryπΈ Colour My World South Africa β Year-End Celebration On 16 December 2025, Colour My World South Africa will gather at the beautiful Arderne Gardens in Claremont for a heartfelt year-end function. This special day was made possible through the generosity and support of our volunteers, partners, and friends. β¨ Highlights of the day: Families will enjoy a free photoshoot, kindly sponsored by the Lions Club Cape Town, capturing memories to treasure forever. Members and volunteers will come together for a joyful bring-and-share picnic, celebrating the achievements of the past year and looking forward to what lies ahead. Our friends at 67 Blankets (NPO) gifted each child with a present, spreading warmth and kindness. The dedicated staff of Aquila Collection donated goodies for party packets, adding extra delight to the childrenβs day. πΈ Photos are memories, and this gathering reminds us how important it is to end the year with gratitude, joy, and togetherness. We are deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to making this event possible. Hereβs to carrying these memories into the new year, with hope and excitement for what is to come.

π CMWSA & New Floating Creations Retreat: Where Water Meets Wonder At Colour My World South Africa, we believe every child deserves joy, connection, and the chance to thrive. Over the years, our events have brought smiles to countless familiesβwhether through inclusive outings, sensory-friendly celebrations, or creative workshops designed to uplift children with special needs and their siblings. Now, weβre proud to introduce our newest initiative: New Floating Creations Retreat, a gentle water therapy and swimming experience tailored for children with disabilities. Held once or twice a month, these 45-minute to 2-hour sessions take place in a warm-water pool heated to 30Β°C, creating a safe and soothing environment where children can float, play, and grow. π§ Why Water Therapy Works Water therapy is more than just funβitβs healing. The buoyancy of water reduces pressure on joints and muscles, allowing children to move freely and comfortably. For those with physical or neurological challenges, water offers: Improved motor skills and coordination Enhanced muscle tone and flexibility Reduced anxiety and sensory overload Boosted confidence through playful movement Our sessions are guided by kind, experienced staff who understand the unique needs of each child. We also welcome one sibling per participant, encouraging shared joy and strengthening family bonds. π What to Expect A warm, welcoming atmosphere where every child is celebrated Gentle floating, guided movement, and playful water games Opportunities for social interaction and sensory exploration A safe space for parents to connect and relax Whether your child is dipping a toe or diving into new possibilities, Floating Creations Retreat is a place where healing begins with laughterβand every splash tells a story of hope.
