Sometimes a certificate represents more than attendance. For our team at CMWSA, it represents the start of what we believe will become a truly meaningful partnership.
Recently, members of our team attended Cloudberry's professional development workshop, "Neurodiversity in Early Childhood Education," where we gained invaluable insights into supporting neurodiverse children and their families. While receiving a Certificate of Attendance was a wonderful acknowledgement, the real achievement was discovering an organisation whose passion, knowledge and commitment left a lasting impression.
Cloudberry, based in the heart of Retreat, is led by an incredible husband-and-wife team whose dedication to neurodiverse children and adults is nothing short of inspiring. Their expertise, compassion and vision are creating opportunities for families who desperately need support, and they deserve to be celebrated.
During our visit, we also learnt about some of the challenges they face as they continue to grow. Their dream is to expand their impact by building a second classroom, creating a safe and engaging play area, and improving their facilities so they can welcome and support even more children.
Following our upcoming fundraiser, CMWSA is excited to begin exploring ways we can support Cloudberry beyond financial assistance.
Some of the ideas already being discussed include:
Connecting with builders and tradespeople who may be willing to donate their time and expertise on a pro bono basis.
Assisting with fundraising initiatives to help make their expansion plans a reality.
Building a long-term partnership that supports both their incredible work and the families they serve.
We believe that when organisations come together, we can create lasting change for our communities.
